GUERILLA MARKETING

Potato stamp and Corio on DHL labels. Very limited edition.

Note: I had this incredible urge to do this today, I am so happy all the materials were readily available at home.
I'm posting this under art because it's pretty damn artistic. lol.

UN AMOR ORIGINAL

If you like RJD2, you need to listen to Sophy. This is where it all came from. The amount of sampling from Sophy's "Yo Soy Mujer..." from 1972 is crazy.

I while back I had a post about Loptimist from South Korea promising to post more Asian hip-hop every now and again. Now is the time, it's been quite a while but here it is. This time around, i'll take you to Japan to meet DJ Muro. He's a real dope DJ and producer who was part of DJ Krush's 'Krush Posse' that formed in 1987. The tracks are from DJ Muro's
"Tokyo Tribe 2" from 2006 that features guest spots by Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and De La Soul amongst other Japanes MC's.

NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER

What's that all about at 47 seconds??? I remember watching this movie as a kid. I'm glad I only noticed it now or else I probably would have been scarred for life...

GANGLAND

I've had a shitty cold for over a week and stayed indoors a lot. I've been watching countless episodes of gangland. Anything, from the Hells Angels to MS13. There is some pretty crazy/scary shit going on, and usually it's over nothing. Anyways, if you're interested then follow this link and pick your gang of choice!

LET THERE BE HOUSE.

THE BEATLES ROCKBAND OPENING CINEMATIC

This is pretty awesome. This little opening sequence manages to capture the whole career and progression of The Beatles in just over 2 minutes. I guess it also goes to say that the animation job is also real good. Check out the whole opening sequence here.

JEFF SOTO INTERVIEW FROM "THE RUN-UP"

I find it pretty awesome that Upper Playground is releasing all these interviews from "The Run-Up". Already when I was in high-school I decided i'd be collecting his paintings when I get rich. Three years have passed, sloooowwwly getting there...very slow.

BRAD PITT'S TECH ETIQUETTE

Is it OK to look at pornography at work?
Don’t just look at it at work, bring in your old porn mags and scan them there! It’s like converting your vinyl to MP3s. Fill up your hard drive, and when you need a break from spreadsheets, just open a favorite pictorial.

Brad Pitt got together with 'Wired' magazine to teach its readers some etiquette for the tech savvy individual. For more tips, click here.

KIDS

Telly: "When you're young, not much matters. When you find something that you care about, then that's all you got. When you go to sleep at night you dream of pussy. When you wake up it's the same thing. It's there in your face. You can't escape it. Sometimes when you're young the only place to go is inside. That's just it - fucking is what I love. Take that away from me and I really got nothing."

Jennie's Nurse: Jennie, you've tested positive for the HIV virus.
Jennie: What?

Jennie's Nurse: The test isn't one hundred percent accurate. You should...

Jennie: I tested positive?

Jennie's Nurse: I'm sorry.

Jennie: But I only had sex with Telly.

[the nurse is silent]
Jennie: I just got tested to keep Ruby company.

I think i'm going to watch Kids
again. Larry Clark and Harmony Korrine, what more could you want. You also get to see Rosario Dawson and Chloë Sevigny. It's pretty insane how a few of the cast members have already passed at very young ages (Harold Hunter R.I.P.).

THEY SEE ME ROLLIN'...

MIKE GIANT INTERVIEW

Keep watching till the end to see the master at work!

COCAINE COWBOYS AND COCAINE COWBOYS 2

Forget Scarface, this is the real deal. The true stories and inspiration for several hollywood movies to come. The first part outlines the cocaine trade in Miami between the 1970's and 1980's and how things got started, like the real life version of "Blow". The second part takes us to Oakland California where Charles Cosby, who is a low level crack dealer manages to get into contact with the "Cocaine Godmother" Criselda Blanco serving time in prison and manages creates a $40 million business within a year.

THE UNPAYABLE DEBT THAT I OWED YOU

you said you hated my tone
it made you feel so alone
so you told me I had to be leaving

but something kept me standing
by that hospital bed
I should have quit but instead
I took care of you

you made me sleep and uneven
and I didn't believe them
when they told me that there
was no saving you

BRICK CITY

“I’ll tell you what. Why don’t we take all these bricks and build a shelter for the homeless, so maybe your mother will have a place to stay.”

NASTY FREAKS

Andy: “I dated this girl for a while, she was really a nasty freak. She just loved to get down with sex all the time. She was like, any time of day, yea let’s go. She was so nasty and I’d be nailing her, and she’d be like “OH you’re nailing me”. Cool’

LIFE VESTS

Looks like someone took the term "life vest" too seriously.

I'M A SUCKER FOR ANIMATED GIFS

More good stuff by Forrest Lucero.

I'm too lazy to get my ass up over to the bed and go to sleep. I'm listening to Prefuse 73, you should too. I'm also too lazy to upload any tracks. This post is pretty pointless.

THE AWARD...

...for new favourite DJ goes to Rainer Werner Bassfinder (a play on Rainer Werner Fassbinder, for the uncultured :p) simply because his name is plain awesome. Rad to the power of sick. I don't even care if his shit sounds good although it actually is. He is currently signed to Turbo Recordings.

Rainer Werner Bassfinder - "Minimal Scarf Fuckers Drown!"

BONUS:
Tiga dropped the new Proxy in his live set at Rock Werchter beginning of this month. Enjoy.

HIBI NO NEIRO

SOUR - “日々の音色 (Hibi no neiro)”
Directed by: Masashi Kawamura

Definitley one of the coolest and creative music videos i've seen in a while.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

A hard decision for Vienna club kids tomorrow the 11th of July 2009. Both NASA and DJ Exile will be performing at two different venues across town. Will it even be possible to make it both? I don't know. The only thing I know is that my mind hasn't been made yet.

NASA - "Gifted" (Steve Aoki Remix)

Exile - "In Love"

WANNA DO SOMETHING REALLY WEIRD?

"Nothing in your education or experience can have prepared you for this film."

I really want to have a movie night and watch this movie with anybody willing to watch it with me. I think it would be an experience best shared as I may not be able to handle it all on my own. Already the trailer makes it look like the weirdest shit ever but yet i'm so intrigued. Some of the scenes from this movie were used in MGMT's "Time to Pretend" video. Director Alejandro Jodorowsky's movies were favourites of the members of The Beatles that John Lennon and Yoko Ono actually financed "The Holy Mountain" in its entirety. Jodorowsky and several cast members were encouraged to take LSD in preparation for filming for spiritual exploration.

RULE #27

RIGHT BACK ATCHA

I have recently added Xtralime to my daily internet routine. Xtralime is the blog of my man Calvin. It's always good to meet new people with similar interests. Looks like we have another "Wall-E" digging through all the crap there is on the internet and savouring the good shit. Check him out.
